Becoming The Queen Of Confidence

Remember that day you told your bestie her new dress made her look awful?

That time you slated your significant other because he missed out on the awesome promotion?

“You’re stupid!” you spat,

“You should have tried harder!“

What about the day you made your daughter cry because you told her she was boring and nobody really wants to be her friend?

Wow – lady, you’re harsh!

Wait, what’s that? You didn’t say any of these things and you could never be so cruel?

Well, that’s only half true isn’t it?

The point we’re trying to make is this – no, you would never treat your loved ones to such a heartless helping of hate, but you think nothing of calling yourself on crap like this every day, right? Be honest.

It’s time we had a serious talk about your behaviour.

If your confidence quota is at an all time low and your self belief has sidled off, we need to get to grips with what’s going on for you. First, do us a favour and print out our fabulous freebie;

‘10 Commandments of Confidence’

Stick it to your mirror, fridge, desk – anywhere you can eye it up daily. Read it. Believe it. Reread it, every day. Let those words sink in.

Confidence comes in many colours. It’s not always about being the loudest, the proudest, the tallest or the best dressed. Ever heard of the ‘quiet cool’? That’s what we’re talking about. Scratch the surface of these warrior women and you’ll find that however they choose to show their superhero spirit to the world, they all have a few things in common;

  • A Confidence Queen never compares herself to others.

  • She trusts her heart and goes with her gut.

  • She treasures her own judgement above all but can listen graciously to helpful advice.

  • A Confidence Queen knows that mistakes may be made but she can learn a valuable lesson and move on.

  • She allows herself time to rest and recuperate without guilt. Self-care, ladies, self-care.

  • She accepts that some days she won’t feel so much like shining, and that’s ok. Even Confidence Queens have down days. Everyone has down days.

The beautiful thing about bolstering your self-belief, your own self worth, is that it comes with that confidence you’ve been craving. You can’t have one without the other. Get to know yourself again. No, really make friends with yourself, as if you were meeting you for the very first time.

  • What does your new friend feel like from day to day?

  • What makes her feel excited?

  • What happens when she’s tired or angry?

  • What are her hopes and dreams for her future?

See if you can gain her trust. Tell her some nice things you’ve learned about her – she bloody well deserves to hear them.

Lady, you are the only you there is. You’re special, you sparkle, and you’re strong. Ain’t no one in the world like you.

When you finally figure out how to be your own best friend, your Confidence Crown will sit proudly atop your pretty head for all to see.
